Shop Darn Good Yarn

The Pensacola Beach Bag Crochet Pattern is a gorgeous addition to your summer wardrobe. It is light and easy to wash and the holes mean that the sand just sifts out before you get back home.

The recommended yarn for this beach bag is Lion Brand Rewind is a perfect tape yarn for year-round sweaters, shawls, and cowls. The sand-washed colors and lightweight construction are also ideal for home decor throws, pillows and wall hangings. The benefit of a tape yarn is that it’s a smooth polyester viscose and beach sand won’t stick to it. You can however use just about any bulky or chunky yarn for this cool pattern.

Super-easy for beginners:

The Pensacola Beach Bag crochet pattern is extremely easy and ideal for beginners. that is too say, the bag is worked in one piece, in 3 sections: base, body, and straps. After that, all sections are worked in joined rounds with the right side always facing.

Besides using single and double crochet stitches, there are 2 special stitches that are explained in detail for the cluster stripe effect. You could play around with that circular base and try different designs of round crochet motif. However, some feedback suggests that you may want to lengthen the strap slightly. Another tip is that you stick with the light color choice as in the picture as the cluster pattern doesn’t show up as well on darker colors.
