Lion Brand Rewind yarn is a gorgeous addition to the Lion Brand collection. practical yarn tape comes in a range of 15 plain colors and 8 variegated shades.
Rewind is a premium, all-purpose bulky / chunky weight yarn (5) that is ideal for accessories and home decor projects such as afghans, baskets cushions, bags and loads more. As it’s a tape yarn, it is truly versatile in that it can also be used for anything from sweaters to summer tops.
However, this yarn is unique as it’s super-soft and very easy to work with. If you’ve never tried a tape yarn, we definitely recommend Rewind. In doing some research on this yarn, ‘Greige’ seems to be the most popular color. Pattern designers seem to love the light grey-beige colour. It must be because it has a classic, quintessential Summer look. The ‘Marble’ (light blue) with white OR the bright yellow (called ‘Make Lemonade’) have a very nautical theme for any project.
Raffia look with a velvet texture
At first this tape yarn may be a little strange to handle, but you will soon get the hang of it. Although Rewind looks almost like raffia it is super-soft to the touch with a slight velvet texture. That is to say, it is not brittle, or even rigid. As a result, Rewind has the look of a ribbon yarn, but the feel of a luxurious fabric. This may not be everyone’s choice. However, if you have a cool project that needs a “woven” look, you should give this a try.
If you are using a pattern, ensure that you use the hook the pattern designer recommends. Some designers specifically use a different hook to obtain a specific texture and not heeding the pattern may change the properties of the item.
